Origin
An Old Icelandic word with three interwoven meanings: “the sea within” (inner world), “to see within” (inner vision), and “to see from the inside out” (gut knowing). The concept gained international attention through the 2016 documentary InnSaei: The Power of Intuition, directed by Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir and Kristín Ólafsdóttir, which explored how modern life erodes our connection to intuition and inner awareness.
