Origin
Derived from the Latin name Matuta from Matuta Mater, the Roman Goddess of the dawn, and the Greek word lype meaning 'grief or sorrow'. Though this term sounds old-fashioned, it's a seemingly new term that has only appeared in since the 2000s.
