Origin

Identified by social psychologist Emily Pronin and colleagues Daniel Lin and Lee Ross at Princeton University in a 2002 paper in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. The research built on earlier work showing that people consistently rate themselves as less susceptible to bias than their peers.
