Origin
Created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s while he was a university student in Italy. He grabbed a tomato-shaped kitchen timer — pomodoro is Italian for tomato — and challenged himself to focus in short bursts, gradually refining the system over the next decade into one of the most widely adopted productivity methods.
