Origin
Italian programmer Alberto Brandolini formulated this principle in January 2013 after watching a televised debate between Silvio Berlusconi and journalist Marco Travaglio. Inspired by Daniel Kahneman's Thinking, Fast and Slow, Brandolini distilled the observation into a single tweet that went viral. Also known as the bullshit asymmetry principle, the law has become a widely cited framework for understanding why misinformation is so difficult to combat.
