Origin

The concept of loaded language has roots in classical rhetoric, with Jeremy Bentham dubbing it "Question-Begging Epithets" and Charles Stevenson describing "emotive or ethical words" in the early 20th century. As a distinct rhetorical fallacy, it represents a subfallacy of begging the question, assuming an unproven evaluation. Systematic study emerged in the late 20th century as fields including philosophy, communication studies, and cognitive psychology renewed interest in informal fallacies.
