Origin
Coined by Gabriel Krieshok around 2016 after living for six years in Washington, DC in a neighborhood surrounded by dog walkers. The term captures the peculiar social choreography of two strangers who have just merged routes and find themselves walking in lockstep with no easy way to separate.
